I often see on social media the idea that drawing is mainly about style—not only in the sense of how you draw, but also what you choose to draw. It feels as if identity becomes the central problem of drawing. For me, drawing is first a way of thinking and observing. Techniques are not a personal signature but tools that accentuate certain aspects of the work or piece of art —form, light, texture, perspective, rhythm. In this sense, style is not an inherent property of drawing but an emergent one: a consequence of certain decisions. Drawing is not a cage or a form of self-branding. If it relates to identity, it does so less by defining it than by allowing it to be explored.
