Pressn't is a site where you can only have a single post per person. Write whatever you want: ephemeral essays, personal reflections, creative work. There's no deep algorithm, just a easy to understand gravity formula. Not much room for slop either, I even disallowed pasting into posts, so content is truly human. There's no doomscrolling because this is no infinite feed. Not much "influencing" you can do if you only have a single psot. It's just people writting for other people to read..

You can like, follow, and comment on others' posts. Following a post pins it to your dashboard so you never miss an update. Comments are threaded and can be replied to. Please keep it civil and fun.

FAQ

Is there post history / version control?

No. Each edit overwrites your post content entirely. There is no version history or revision tracking. Make sure to keep local backups if you need them.

Do comments reset when I edit my post?

No. Comments are never deleted when you edit. They are marked as "old" so readers can see which comments refer to a previous version of your post, but every comment remains visible and preserved.

How does trending work?

Posts are ranked using a gravity-based algorithm: score = (likes - 1) / (hours_since_update + 2)^1.8. Newer posts and posts with more likes rank higher. Gravity (1.8) prevents old posts from dominating.

What is a Fest?

A Fest is a temporary sitewide event with its own prompt and its own Fest-only feeds. Posts can opt in, and only participating posts can receive Fest endorsements while the event is active.

What do Fest winners get?

The top 5 endorsed posts from the last Fest are stickied in Previous Fest Winners on the home dashboard until the next Fest begins. Fest-specific rewards are event-defined perks announced with each Fest, such as special recognition or other seasonal extras.

Are there content guidelines?

I reserve the right to delete any content deemed dangerous, abusive, illegal, or otherwise unsuitable. Formal guidelines are pending.

Can I delete my account or post?

Yes. You can delete your account from your profile details page. This permanently removes your post, profile, and all associated data.

Is the code open source?

The code is currently private. If the project matures, I intend to make it open source. For now, bug reports and feature requests can be sent via the contact form.

How do @mentions work?

Typing @username in your post or a comment will notify that user. The mention becomes a clickable link to their profile.

Why can't I paste into the post editor?

Pasting is disabled to encourage truly human-written content and discourage AI-generated or copied material. Every word you publish had to be typed by hand.

Was this vibe coded?

All backend code was handwritten, and most frontend code was at a start. Styling, layout, and security/code-review stuff was ai-assisted with hand-written tweaks here and there.
